Eclectic Stew

Through the eyes of a wanderer

7/28/06 03:57 pm - Dawson's Creek Moments at the end of summer

CAST:
JACK - Me
JEN - Anna Kastner
JOEY - Cat
PACY - Evan
GUEST - Siduri

So dinner for 5 last night. I took 4 hours of prep and it turned out amazing. Everyone was about to burst, but still Anna's going to Ghana. The Jen to my Jack. How am I going to get through the rst of this summer break. It's scary sad. I'm taking to my room for the rest of the night. Chinese food and moping about life (as well as watching plenty of Footballer's Wives). People come visit me or give me excuses to visit you and take off work. This whole lack of car and working 6 days a week thing sucks.

But other than that, this summer has been amazing, exactly what i needed. I feel like I never want to go back to school. If you want to catch up IM me sometime this weekend b/c I'll probably be near my computer or give me a call. I need interaction to draw me out of my room.

5/29/06 11:48 pm

So for people who haven't heard yet, I'll be at swat all summer. Planning to live in the ville and trying to convince the apartment renter that advertising her place as including internet when it doesn't provides me with a good reason to get it included. So 24 more hours to haggel until i give into her, but yea so I'll be there. Plus i have stories for people who feel like giving me a phone call. This might not end up being an lj summer. the first in a long while.

5/24/06 01:33 pm - The advocate trying to rectify its idiocy

So a month or so ago there was that petetion/letter floating around against the columnist in the advocate for bashing immigration rights and how her ignorance towards a)identity intersectionality (even though she was QPOC) and b) the destrutive nature of creating heirarchies of oppresion. So anyway this weeks advocate now has an article about queer/gay immigrants. Craziness right?

I've only had a chance to scan it so far, but pick up a copy and look at it.
It's titled: "We Too are Immigrants" by Todd Henneman

Also, tati (if you're reading) you might want to take a look for the fall.

Ok I'm in shock. Slightly.
So when the rents came to town for the intervention I got an ultimatum about grade. I needed a 3.0. to continue. After some bad classes here it there I thought I could do it this semester. Then hit hit music 12. Then, I ended up with a B- in that class. It was the only class I was scared about and it's fine with the other ones. I'll be here in the fall. It's something I've been panicking about for the last mont hand its ok. whew, now I need to rock this fall and finish up this spring.

5/20/06 03:28 pm

In a little over 12 hours I've finished the first season of grey's anatomy. It's the ER of today, except better (although ER was pretty damn good and addicting as displayed by my mother, brother, and I watching hours of it when we were in St. louis for my grandfather's funeral).
Can't get enough, I think I'll be done with the second season by mid-week. Although the weepy me might not make it through. I ended up crying in more than half the episodes I watched last night. I mean the justified one was when the nurse was dieing of pancreatic cancer, which my other grandfather died from. The way they made her up was way to close to home for the moment. But I love it.

4/30/06 02:30 pm

I just won a free ipod nano and so did polexa. go to blingo.com and see. comment if you want me to invite you. It's a free google search engine that give out prizes all day long. Two months of using it as my google and it's alredy paid off.

4/11/06 05:24 pm - Things that have changed at home since I was last there

- Barnes and Nobles switched the escalators. Up is now down and visa versa. It's like going into a backwards world

- Lourdes' junior prom, under threat of a post-prom party, now has a rule were prom go-ers must be signed out by there parent's in order to go home

- The trainstation is back under construction (will it never end)

Wow, I have no memory of the many other things I noted on my 14 hour trip. Strange. but seriously, barnes and nobles is scary.

3/30/06 03:02 am - When writing a paper at 3am

What do you come along when writing a paper at 3 am?

Pirate Cat Radio!! 89.7 out of the San Fransico Bay Area.

In I-tunes under the public radio section.

Real pirate stories!!!!!!!

I'm going to see if paper writing and pirates can mix.

Klein Sexual Orientation Grid

I scored an average of 5.1

01 2 3 4 5 6
HeterosexualBisexualHomosexual

Meaning

This result can also be related to the Kinsey Scale:

0 = exclusively heterosexual
1 = predominantly heterosexual, incidentally homosexual
2 = predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3 = equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 = predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5 = predominantly homosexual, incidentally heterosexual
6 = exclusively homosexual

Summary

The idea of this excercise is to understand exactly how dynamic a person's sexual orientation can be, as well as how fluid it can be over a person's lifespan. While a person's number of actual homo/heterosexual encounters may be easy to categorize, their actual orientation may be completely different. Simple labels like "homosexual", "heterosexual", and "bisexual" need not be the only three options available to us.
